Nice video. Nice homemade cat tree project. NICE music! Something like this is an ideal project for the do-it-yourselfer. Express your creativity, save some money, and make your kitties happy all in one project.

I didn’t want to spend 0 on an ugly cat tree, so I built one myself. Here is a look at it with the cats playing on it. A write-up on the tower is at my website: www.ubrgk.com

  1. OMG Dude, when I saw the black stuffed toy fall from the top ‘nest’, I thought it was the other cats head ;_; XD

    Other than that though!
Great job! It looks very professional and the cats seem to love it!

  2. Thats Really Nice ive been wanting one for my cat but i only find ugly ones!

  3. I agree, it would sadden me if they couldn’t sleep together — and in fact they do! It may not look like it in the video, but they both curl up together in that top perch 🙂 Sometimes we’ll walk by and just see two tails hanging out of the hole :). Both cats, however, are ‘petit’ and max out at 9 lbs.

  4. Pretty cool, but you should have made the top perch big enough for two cats. As it is, only one of the cats gets to sleep in the perch, and the other one may feel left out.

  5. Kudos on the kraft dood! I searched for your video after having started one of my own for my cats, too. Will add a vid of it and maybe some hints. I used clamps and carpenters glue for the carpet adhesive, things like liquid nails is a bad idea, is toxic (and flamable) just a tip. Again GOOD JOB! WIll check out your site, too.

  6. Wow! I’ll take $40 and a little manual labor to $200 any day! Thanks! =)

  7. If you have all the tools necessary, then materials were around $40, easy. It depends on how “scrappy” you are 🙂 In a nutshell: 3 2x4s, one 4×4 MDF, one 4×4 1/4″ plywood, 2 dowel rods, and a couple feet of 8′ carpet.

  8. So, you didn’t mention on your website how much it cost you to make this thing. I would like to know, please. =)

  9. Why would price an animal its like saying how much a child cost. Just go to your local animal shelter and ask to adopt a cat you would only have to pay a donation fee of at least 60 dollars.

  10. care full the cats dont throw there toys at you lol nice work 10000000/10 😀

  11. I want a cat more then ever now. -.- good video and how much would you think a cat costs? 5/5.
