“I WOULD LIKE A CHEAP CAT CONDO IT COULD BE USED. ALSO A BED AND SCRATCHING POST. HELP! Any thing for a cat would be helpful. Thanks”

You can actually make them yourself and by doing so they are generally cheaper and more durable then the store ones. All you need is a little carpet, some 4×4’s with bolts, wood glue (don’t use staples on the carpet as they can hurt the cat’s paws), rope (if you want them to be able to use part of the post as a scratching post that is), and some plywood. You can find directions online on how to put a basic one together, and from there it’s all your design and how you think your cats would like it best!

  1. Sometime freecycle.com or craigslist.com have listings for these. If you want a new one, check http://www.armarkat.com. They have the best quality and prices with free shipping. Your cat will love a condo. It's the best investment I ever made for my cats (aside from spay/neuter).

  2. Craigs list or join up with a Freecycle list in your area (online) and send out a request for those items. You'll be able to get it free if it's on freecycle.

  3. Target or Wal-mart are the two places I have found the best, cheapest, good quality pet stuff.

  5. Funny thing is that I bought my cats a really nice cat condo on line and they ended up playing in the cardboard box. So maybe skip the condo if you can't afford it a get a couple of those boxes that paper comes in for copy machines and cut some holes in them. Paper bags are irresistible too!
For scratching I bought one of those cardboard things that just sit on the floor and the cats love it. You sprinkle it with cat nip and they go nuts.
